Originally derived from boxing, “sparring” refers to a training session in which two boxers fight each other to improve their skills. In a figurative sense, this term is used in a business context to describe a form of coaching in which an executive can critically reflect on, test and further develop their ideas, strategies and decisions in a protected and confidential setting through a focused and intensive dialog with an experienced coach or mentor (the “sparring partner”). <\/p>\n
